A Declining Performance
While many are just starting to think about tourism performance this year,
figures seem to be discouraging so far. The number of incoming tourists to Lebanon totaled 713,919 in the first half of 2012, constituting a decline of 7.8% from 774,214 tourists during the same last year.
Arab tourists accounted for 37% of total visitors in the first half of the year, and were followed by visitors from Europe with 29.8%, the Americas with 15.3%, Asia with 9.9%, Africa with 4.4%, and Oceania with 3.5%.
The number of tourists constiute a decline of 25.9% from 964,067 tourists during the first half of 2010.
