Energy Efficiency: Condition for Industrial License

The adoption of energy efficiency standards in Lebanese factories is to be mandatory for obtaining an industrial operating license, according to the Ministry of Industry.

Minister of Industry, Vrej Sabounjian recommends industrialists to move towards renewable energy and energy efficiency to save production costs and alleviate the environmental damage.


The Industry Ministry concluded a two-day seminar on ‘Energy and Industry’.


Major seminar recommends includes taking advantage of long-term loans and subsidized interest rate through the funding mechanism of National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) in collaboration with the Bank of Lebanon in addition to working in coordination with the Ministry of Industry to establish specialized industrial areas to take advantage of  energy production joint centers to save production costs.
