FDI Grow by 5 Pct. IDAL
Lebanon has a lot of potential that will allow it to become a major destination for investments in the region. Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) registered an annual growth rate by 5 percent in the past six years, despite the circumstances in the region said Nabil itani, Head of Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL), during "Invest in Lebanon" session, within the Investment Forum, held in the Palais des Congrès in Paris. He explained that these investments are concentrated mainly in the services and trade sectors (70 percent), tourism (10 percent) and real estate (6 percent).
Itani said that promising opportunities are available in many economic sectors in Lebanon. The tourism sector, for instance,is expected to grow by 30 percent, in addition to the investment opportunities in the cosmetic care centers, rehabilitation clinics, specialized treatments and alternative medicine. Promising opportunity remains in the media and digital media, with serious opportunities in production, digital games, online games and three-dimensional imaging and content development for the Arab world.
