First Solar IPP Project to be Launched
In an effort to urge the involvement of the private sector in electricity generation in Lebanon, the Lebanese Parliament has passed law no. 288/2014 as an amendment to the existing law 462/2002. The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) will launch a new call for proposal to build the first solar photovoltaic farm in Lebanon by an Independent Power Producer (IPP), to benefit from this legislative development.
LCEC expects to have all the preparations completed by September 2014, which will hopefully allow the announcement of this path during the Beirut Energy Forum 2014.
