IRENA and MEW Launch “Lebanon Energy Outlook 2030”

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Ministry of Energy and Water in Lebanon, IRENA has approved the request of the Ministry to conduct the “Renewables Readiness Assessment (RRA)” and the “Renewables Mapping” (REmap) studies of Lebanon. Under the patronage and in presence of the Minister of Energy and Water H.E. Ms. Nada Boustany, a national multi-stakeholder workshop organized by both IRENA and the LCEC will take place in Beirut next week under the title “Renewable Energy Outlook of Lebanon 2030”. This national workshop is a major milestone to develop a national road map for Lebanon to reach its new set objective of 30% of renewable energy by 2030. The final RRA and REmap of Lebanon are expected to be announced by September 2019.
