Lebanon Among Asia's Top 100 Universities
By Nathalie Christy. In a country where years of turmoil have shaken people confidence Lebanon’s universities stand with unabated defiance to the political storms these institutes keep their competitive edge in a region witnessing an unprecedented growth of internationally branded universities.
The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings for 2013, ranked the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 87th place in Asia and in fifth place among five Arab universities included in the ranking. Saudi Arab King Abdul Aziz is the top-ranked Arab university, came in 47th place. The University of Tokyo ranked first in Asia. The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings is prepared by British magazine The Times Higher Education.
Higher education in Lebanon has a tradition that span over 140 years. Many universities have proposed a wide range of majors in recent years.
Regardless the political situation, Lebanon proves to be ready for competition.
