National Strategy For Wastewater Includes New Tarrifs
The new National Strategy for the Wastewater Sector in Lebanon
was announced by the Ministry of Energy and Water, with the aim to extend wastewater treatment networks linking 95 percent of the population.
The strategy includes new tariffs to be imposed as of the beginning of 2013. Citizens who are not linked to the wastewater networks will pay L.L 5,000 annually. An amount of L.L 20,000 will be charged yearly to those connected.
The strategy includes an investment plan, institutional, and financial measures.
