Request for Expression of Interest- Wind Power Rental Project

The Ministry of Energy and Water expresses its interest in receiving offers for the rental of energy produced from wind farms. Interested companies are requested to  contact the Ministry of Energy and Water at energy@lcecp.org.lb to get the application form needed to apply for the Expression of Interest. EOIs should be submitted to EDL by Saturday, October, 13, 2012 at 12:00 noon.

The “Policy Paper for the Electricity Sector” previously approved by the Council of Ministers calls for the introduction of 60-100 MW of wind farms by the private sector by the year 2014. During the opening session of the Beirut Energy Forum 2012, Minister Gebran Bassil announced the launching of this process by inviting private investors to submit expressions of interest.

In an ideal political situation, it is expected that the contract for constructing the first wind farm by the private sector will be signed in the first quarter of 2013.
